Tadao Ando (The water temple)

Water Temple (Shingonshu Honpukuji) 1991
1310, Ura Higashiura-cho, Hyougo-ken (Awaji Island)
Tsuna-gun Hyogo Japan

The Temple, originally for the Shingon Buddhist Sect, is the same religion of Koyasan.

Shingon, a form of Buddhism emphasizing mystical symbolism of mantras and mudras and the Buddha's ideal which is inexpressible by word.
The structure is also more than beautiful with atmosphere by nature.

Must see!

Also located on Awaji Island not far from the Water Temple is Awaji Yumebutai, a mixed-use complex by Tadao Ando.

How to visit
By train (from JR Osaka Station) take JR line to Maiko Station (45 min.).

From here take the local bus to Tateishikawa bus stop (3-5 min.) or walk to Water Temple (20 min.).
There is a shuttle bus that transports people around the island to various destinations.
