Bonfire events in Kansai 2011; DAIMONJI GOZAN OKURIBI and more

There is Buddism observabces in which people light a bonfire
to guide their ancesters at the begining of the bon festival and
also to see them off at its end in the mids August.

There are some festivals and events to do with this bonfire thing.
Here are some of them held in Kansai area.

DAIMONJI GOZAN OKURIBI (KYOTO) 
16th AUGUST  20:00-  lit for 30min. each
Numerous bonfires make five letters and symbols on mountains in Kyoto.

TO-KAE (NARA)
5th - 14th AUGUST  Light UP 19:00-21:45
Not bonfires but tens of thousands of candles are lit up in the land of ancient Nara.
